The River Suir in Winter is presented on Nationwide River Suir; remember 2005 and read about Carlow Through the Waters of Time; In 2011 Waterford is once again hosting the Tall Ships; Barrowline Link describes the boatmen of the Barrow, written in 1953. BBC Music and Canals evokes the sounds of a barge on the Grand Union Canal in the UK c1930.
The Heritage Boat Sailing Ketch Ilen is being restored through a series of workshops.
Chris Moss of Dutch Barge Watergeuse, has written a great article in Blue Flag, promoting the Irish Inland Waterways. We have received a copy for inclusion on our website Publications & Reference – Blue Flag Magazine
The Irish Waterways History site features an account and some excellent photos of L.Derg, the Shannon and its tributaries in IWH Floods of November 2009. Predicted precipitation for Ireland as published by the Heritage Council and Failte Ireland is covered on Page 32 of HBA Latest News – Climate Change Report – Jun 2009
The IWA in the UK is encouraging people to support the Considerate Boater Manual, accepted etiquette on the canals.
